Posted on 23 February 2017 at 15:21:36 GMT Since this was a "first" game for our group, we played a modified encounter battle with no off-board artillery and no air support. The Germans moved first and thus were able to get many of their panzers into range when the British advanced in the second half of the first turn. Two of the British commanders (me included) had abysmal luck with issuing more than an order or two. The two German 88s (one in each battle group) dispatched British tanks right and left. Finally, the one German artillery battalion (three batteries) was more effectively used than the three British double-batteries were. All in all it was a learning experience. We will continue playing these rules as )I think) every one had a good time, even us British commanders who got creamed. Jim |
