Finally got around to doing a write-up of a game I had in October last year:

Well spotted Mark! I don't have any KV-1s, and as far as I know, nobody makes them in 10-12mm. This mash-up is close enough Smile

I might have to try that scenario Smile

Great fun, thanks. "3:15 from Moscow" Smile

A couple of questions:
I like the scenario rule for Scouts/Engineers locating hidden minefields as an initiative acton. Do you use the normal 10cm range bands for spotting units?
For the house rule for dug-in troops being hit on 5+ by IDF - do you also use the normal save values for dug-in troops?

... and a couple of observations:
The caption for the map photo says Russians attack from the left, but I think that should say from the right.
German Turn 1 - SU is hit by artillery but no suppressions, but I think you were using auto-suppression.Grin

should read "Do you use the normal 10cm range bands AS for spotting units?"

Cheers AB Smile

As it happened, we never used the "find minefield" initiative action! We got engrossed in the game, and as a result forgot about this bit. I think I changed it to 5cm bands, or limited to 30cm...it was 3 months ago!

And yes the caption should say "the right". Re the SU suppression - it probably made it's save, so therefore no "hits" per se.

For the 5+ for IDF, we kept the trench/dug-in save as written.

Hope that helps.

The scenario needs a few more tweaks - it seems daft that the Germans can't use half of the main town at its outside of deployment zone - best thing would be to move the town back a bit, or extend the deployment area. HAve a go and see what works for you!

Bear in mind that I nicked it from the Battlefront site, so it probably works better for their rules.

MiniFigs do one and it's not so bad; WGS also do one and it's not so good, but pending a remake. Where do you think I got mine from that are in the BKC-II book?

Pete, neither are a KV-1s though, Minifigs is KV-1b and WS looks like KV-1c to me.

Either of those would be better than using an IS hull wouldn't it?

Not when I already have the IS-2 hulls and T34/76 turrets! Smile The beauty of the plastic World Tank Museum models is that temporary turret swaps are pretty easy. I did the same thing when I needed KV-85s; IS-2 hull and T34/85 turret.

Granted it's a stop-gap, as eventually I'd like some proper KV-1s (and probably WGS ones when/if they (re)do them).

Hi Dave. Nice but I have to say that the german deployment is total stupid! To have the frontline just behind the village give the enemy too much cover to approach.
The frontline would be before the town or there would be no town left!Stunned

It was totally stupid! This is one of the difficulties in converting scenarios form other rule-sets - the deployment rules in this case are quite different.

And I'm a complete numpty when deploying troops (and manoeuvring them, and fighting with them.....)

If there weren't so many field defences pointing the right way it might have been flank attack or an over run/exploitation from some other unit just "off table"?
