I've not had time to do a lot of gaming recently - real life and all that.
So when I got a couple of hours free yesterday morning - I knew I had to invade somewhere while I had the chance.

Mistakes in size and balance of forces - but it was solo so only I suffered - you can share my pain/joy at

My future plans include gaming Operaton Sealion, so I very much enjoyed seeing how things went, which was badly for the Boche!

Thanks Steve,

I have presumed that they would have had a lot of trouble getting enough troops ashore in a limited window while the RN were distracted to be too overwhelming at first. I confess I had expected the village to fall pretty easily leading on to bigger, operational level battles inland.

The original plan was to fight this campaign in different ways - PBEM planning and landing, Megablitz face to face (umpired by me) operational battles and key smaller ops through BKC solo. I enjoyed this so much however I may re-jig bits to make for more BKC stuff - whether solo or not.

Yes, it was great. The room I used to game in has been commandeered by my 11 year old daughter as her new bedroom, my 4 year old son then demanded her old room, leaving me his room - but wait! My wife wanted a room to study in - says I don't let her near this room with the computer inBlackeye
So now I am trying to sort out the garage and/or the room I run the business from to accommodate a bit of gaming room. B*%%$£ hell!AngryGrin

I found Macksey's book on Operation Sealion very useful in terms of reference on what may have happened if they had tried to invade.

As for a gaming room, it's a case of getting stuff out of the garage and attic and then setting up in the kitchen or dining roomSad.

Thanks BigDaveSmile
Thanks Steve - I read Macksey some while ago - I think that is where I got the idea of the 'pig pile' landing - everything arriving anyhow out of sequence - which is how I justified the crap dice throws for what arrived to relieve the Fallschirmjaeger. It doesn't sit with one's prejudices about German efficiency I know but it was (if I remember correctly) a German appreciation of what would happen if they went for it.

'Pig pile' sums it up nicely. I'm pretty sure you can get the original German plans online, but would have to check.
