Just a quick question. Coming from FOW 15mm with their basing system. I'm thinking the correct scaling for BKC would be 1.5x all measurements (i.e 7.5, 15, 30, and 45cm) for both command distance and ranges. I picked 15mm since I figured there would be plenty of rulesets that I could use 'em for. BKC = win!

I'm more used to inches, but happily that translates really nicely to 3", 6", 12", 18"! Another excellent feature.

When using FOW 15mm, what multiplier do people on here tend to use if any?

thanks,
Chris

If you like it that way, then there should not be a problem. However, the 6mm to 15mm range of minis doesn't really require any scale changes from what is listed in the book. For 1 base=1 plt level of gaming anyway.

I have plated quite a few BKC in 6mm and find it works well and is an enjoyable game.

When I have tried 15mm I use 1" instead of cm for the range which makes a massive difference

For 6mm I mainly play on 6x4 table. For 15mm I am using 4x8 table but it just feels wrong and tankss have range over the whole table.

What do other people use for 15mm?

thanks

Greetings

I've shied away from using my 15mm with BKC and use my own 10mm and friend's 6mm in both cases using up to a 6' x 4' table as there's no room for more.

I would expect from an aesthetic perspective to increase the scale by about 1.5 or so for 15mm though it would not be mechanically necessary (this is more or less what I'm doing for another set of rules).

I wouldn't think you need to go to inch scale as that would make your average battlefield as contemplated in the scenarios 15 feet long by 10 feet wide Smile. I can see the problems using this scale (which is x 2.5) would cause on an 8' x 4' table.

Regards

I was planning on playing in 15mm without altering game distances at all!

Even the large Flames of war bases (2"x21/2"Wink will work with the 1cm = 20m ground scale without having to use a multiplier. The average frontage for a platoon is about 100meters (5cm or 2"Wink. see http://www.balagan.org.uk/war/ww2/snippet/infan...
Granted it may look a little crowded with 15mm figures and vehicles.

Played BKC I with the group last night for the first time in ages (over a year!). Used the ranges, etc exactly as per the rules.

No problems and had a great evening, though the Panzer Battalion HQ is due for the firing squad about now!!
