I've just bought a few Pendraken 10mm to see whether the size is right for me, whether my eyesight is good enough to work them.

First impressions - I am pleasantly surprised how god these are for the tiny size - I think the size will be a challenge for me but I will give it a go.

Question about preparing - is it best to undercoat first and then clean up or should I try and clean up before undercoating.

Cheers,

Nigel

Thanks, that would have been my first thought and I have always done it like this before but on bigger sclae (1/35) that I can see.

The reason I ask here is that it that the stuff is so small it isn't easy for me to distguish the seams and crud that shouldn't be there. I wondered whether a shot of primer would make it stand out better.

Cheers,

Nigel

Clean up, then hit with a light coat of primer and recheck. If you missed any flash, the primer makes it easier to see.

If you notice the bits sticking out later it could be painted on as some thick mud or vegetation picked up?

If you're worried about missing detail you could do a very quick black ink wash to bring out the contrast, then clean up then prime? I'd second the others though, I clean them up first then prime/base coat Smile

Most of the Pendraken sculpts are dry clean though - better than a lot of bigger manufacturers! Especially the newer moulds Smile
