Ok lets try this again, I had some issues posting images last night; Pete/Admin has deleted the errant empty threads as requested.

I have finally got around to deciding how to do these, I was undecided whether-or-not they were going to be on winter bases (snow as opposed to mud). Trying to make snow in this scale is difficult; it’s even more difficult to get a convincing winter scheme on vehicles in this scale; so in the end I’ve gone for an early Spring or late Autumn ‘sort of’ scheme. A couple of the command stands are clearly midsummer!

The force is based around the Hungarian 2. Armoured Division between April 1944– early 1945. Early April was when the Division deployed and the later period allows me to add some German assistance to the group.

May 1944 the Germans initially gifted some armoured vehicles to the Hungarian 3rd Tank Regiment to replace their losses. (I’ve avoided Hungarian language to speed up the typing!). This consisted of some Tiger 1, Pz IV, StuG and as time progressed started to sell material to the Hungarians where new equipment (StuG & JgdPz 38(t)) became available to them.
The Hungarians had a ‘bit of a hard time’ with their Turán’s which were outdated by the time they actually went into production, although the Hungarian tanks crews acquitted themselves well with what they had. I have a couple of Tigers to add along with a couple of platoons of JgdPz 38(t) along with 1-2 Panther for the late 1944 supply of around 5 Panthers to the Hungarians.

Apologies for the crap photos, I borrowed a mate's camera which does take a great photograph, it's just not idiot proof me-thinks!

To avoid crashing the post again, more here.

Brilliant work. Love the HQ with the railway and the one with the cyclists passing the VW Beetle. Inspirational stuff keep it coming.

Cheers

Thanks for the comments folksBlush

AJ the fencing is N guage railway fencing, if I remember correctly it's this one-

http://www.modelrailwayslimited.com/model-railways/Ratio-N-Gauge-GWR-Station-Fencing.html

There are other manufacturers, I just cut in in half (or smaller) as required, Iron rail fencing is also available.

I've been asked a few times how I paint my stuff, so I will do a couple of "How I do it" over on the blog next week.

Might it be the Mercedes staff car - if it's the big standard military as opposed to shiny luxury version -

Or the Citreon from the French range would be pretty similar!
