Asking for help.

I have two 15mm Achilles which look rather empty without any crew figures. I have checked a few photo's on the web and not sure if I should use tank crew figures with berets or SP gun crew figures (tin hats) or a mixture of both?

Regards

They wore either GS caps or the RAC helmet. So berets painted khaki will do for the former. The latter are a bit trickier as I've not seen many figures with it in 15mm though you may be able to use some Para figures (or PP heads) as it's the same shape. I'd avoid the battle bowler tin hats completely as I've seen few if any pics of M10 crews wearing them.

I’m fairly certain the Battlefront Achilles comes with crewmen in helmets.

Luke, that's what I thought too, but I've just checked and the online store shows figures in berets or what I'm assuming are the RAC helmets (like para helmets). That's a blow as my 6mm M10s and Achilles have regular infantry cut to size and stuck in. A well, no one will ever know unless they carry a micrometer in their back pockets!

These Canadians on D-day look to be wearing helmets with more of a rim than the RAC helemts! My 6mm SPATs must be Canadian then!

The Canadian crewmen are most probably wearing the Mk3 helmet that was issued to them, among others, for the normandy invasion. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mk_III_helmet

The chap putting his helmet on looks to be holding the RAC helmet? Are we sure that the chap in th mk3 isn't an infantryman hitching a ride? Rimmed helmets tended to get the rim caught on hatches etc... but perhaps less of an issue in an M10?
