Very nice looking, and mondo cheap to boot!

Good decision on the static grass/flock as well, but would it be worth an even lighter dry brush on the tanks to try and make them 'pop' more?

3mm looks tricky - I haven't tried myself, but others suggest going very light and doing contrasting basing to make them more visible (exactly what the troops themselves *don't* want!).

I like the paint schemes, and going lighter might be hard as you say... maybe darken the base? Or just ignore my pondering and go as-is, 'cos they do look good Grin

Yeah I did some modern 3mm last year and people said to contrast the base a bit more, which would be easier in a European or tropical setting but a little bit harder in a desert setting. I think I will leave them as they are. 3mm is good practice for when I it comes time to paint my 6mm for arctic strike, they will seem massive in comparison!

They look very nice! If you want to make them "pop" more, you could flock with Woodland Scenics yellow fine flock on the base, near to the tanks. In other words, go lighter on the base.

3mm is n ot especially tricky, it just needs different techniques from, say, 15mm.

And they reckon 6mm is heresy...
