I have started bulding one of the above but have found a couple of bits that I cannot easily determine where they go.

I am building the models as Pz IV F2/G.

There appears to be an addition spare road wheel, which may go on the right rear of the vehicle the same as on the left.

There is also what appears to be a long thin tool box.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Regarding the toolbox PSC gave this answer posted on TMP

"The long thin thing is a tool box and can be fixed on the side (on the right preferably)"

Not sure about the road wheel though.

Road wheels were normally stored on the right-hand side (when facing the tank from the front), in a rack - two in total:

Trying to find a pic with the road wheels in the rack, but it's not easy:

You can see where the wheels have been on this one!

The rack with the pair of roadwheels is shown in the instructions, Steve is asking about the two individual spares included;

Thinking more about it I don't recall seeing pictures of single ones stowed as PSC show.

Hope link works.

The box was at the left side and contains 2 spare wheels.

As I said before I do'nt think Steve has a problem locating the pair of road wheels in the rack, it's the two individual ones and the toolbox on the sprue below them, see my link to the PSC site.
