Good afternoon all!

My lovely trip to Eden Camp earlier today has put me in the mood to spend some money on toy soldiers. I've got a few ideas in mind, and one of them is my own flavour of 'A Very British Civil War' with BKC.

I've looked at Mr Harwood's 10mm Pendraken miniatures and that's the way I want to go, but I'm a little at a loss as to what miniatures he has used and what would be suitable. I know Pendraken have a growing AVBCW on their webstore but there are only a few packs listed under that, I imagine the rest will need to come from either their WW2, WW1 or Inter-war collections.

Just to give me some ideas, which of Pendraken's miniatures would work best for:

Answer Union and/or Communist worker-style militia?

and

[B] Fascist government-supported Blackshirts?

For the Blackshirts, I was thinking of representing the infantry with WW1 British troops in caps, for that fascist uniform look. For the worker's militia, perhaps a mixture from the Spanish Civil War ranges? I just don't want them to look too, well, Spanish!

Thanks,

Fletch

Hi Fletch - you're right - I've used a mix of WW1 & 2 as well as SCW figures in all my forces. The Socialists [not painted yet] were largely WW2 Russians from the bits box together with some SCW; the BUF predominantly WW1 Germans with a few WW2 thrown in for good measure; Nationalist Yeomanry [also not painted yet] are WW1 Brits with some WW2 as well - including Home Guard & EW figures.

My lists look like this:

Luttrell Yoemanry:
CO, 2 x HQ
6 Regulars, 1 Sniper, 3 A/T Rifle
1 Lanchester A/C
1 Whippet
1 Vickers MkII
1 Vickers Mk Vi
1 MkIV male 6 pdrs
1 MkIV female MGs
2 Cavalry

BUF:
CO, 2 x HQ
6 Regulars, 2 Snipers, 3 A/T Rifle, 1 Mortar
2 PzI
2 L3/35
1 Erhardt A/C
2 Cavalry

Socialists:
CO, 2 x HQ
12 Militia
2 T26
2 Cavalry
[armoured train to be added at some point]

Anglican League:
CO, HQ
6 Militia
2 ATG

Brigands:
CO, 2 x HQ
4 Cavalry
2 Snipers
6 Militia
3 Quads
3 Motorcycles
2 Rolls Royce A/C

If you're after codes I can post my orders if you like...

Excellent - would love to see you put on an AVBCW game but anything will do if you are using BKC2

Look forward to meeting you and thanking you in person for all the help you offer us folks on the forums.Smile

If you do it in 3mm, you can use pretty much whatever infantry you like. Grin
