Hi Guys,

I've been busy over Xmas! Here's my (somewhat lengthy) PSC Halftrack review.

Hope it's of interest?

All the best,

Looks very good, Tim - better than the Zvezda ones? I have four of those, but still sealed in boxes Blackeye

Pete,

The Zvezda model is strictly an Ausf B but would pass for a Ausf C. If I wanted this pattern of halftrack and wasn't too worried about having crew figures, I'd be tempted to stick with Zvezda as they're much quicker to build and I think they may proove to be more robust on the table (of course they're cheaper too at £2.75).

If you've got the time and inclination the PSC models can't be beaten for quality I'm assuming their Ausf C version is as good as I've only built the Ausf D's.

As they say, "you pays your money, you takes your choice!"

All the best

Thanks Tim, Ausf B is OK for me. I'll wait until I build the kits to see for myself Smile

A cliff hanger, I see!! - lead us into the promised land of half track utopia and then stop - "sorry folks thats all for this part" - I am not even a 15mm player / figure & model collector for WW2 but the review got me hooked and the model looked to have more detail than many earlier 20mm models of same vehicle.
I am having to keep my credit card hand in check like Dr Strangelove had to keep his saluting hand in check else I will find myself with lots of nice 15mm WW2 models just for the fun of making them up and of course I couldnt leave it there.... down hand down keep off the credit card....,

Looking at that list the 2561 conversion set looks interesting.

It does, I'm hoping the Drilling gets included but Will was not sure if he could fit it in, the more common stuff taking precedence.

Looking at that list I may as well just hand over all my money to them now!

I'm tempted by the Decal sets. Why no pictures though?

Reckon I've got a gap between the 15mm Tiger and the Churchill to clear some space and save up some cash but then I'm going to be inundated. Shock

Think I'll stick with Dom for my decals though.

The 1:72 version is available now. I ordered a box with 3 modells last night. Looks rather the same like their little brother but you can also build the platoonleader vehicle SdKfz 251/10. Thats the one with the 37mm gun.

Conversion set for the 15mm kit is out too. Contains enough to do 4 each /10, /9, /16 & /2. 1/72 Universal Carrier comes out early next month too. See Will from PSC post somewhere that he thinks the UC will be too fiddly in 15mm, which is a shame. Suppose I'll have to make do with the 16 I have from BF Huh?

I picked up one of the conversion kits at Bovington last weekend. It’s an excellent kit and goes together with the existing SDKFZ.251/D kit like a dream.

I also had a quick chat with the guy on the stall (might have been Will, but I can’t say for sure) about the universal Carrier and he told me that whilst simply scaling down the existing 1/72 version to 1/100 would be too fiddly, he’s going to retool it in the future to make it simpler. So there will be an 15mm Universal Carrier at some point put it’s unlikely before 2013.
