Posted on 30 November 2011 at 08:01:44 GMT Since these were platic I sprayed them with Tamiya olive drab 1st. If they were metal I'd use a grey primer. Next I take a mixture of Future acrylic floor polish and water - half and half - and a few drops of black paint and wash the whole model. Here is a tiger done that way. http://i1237.photobucket.com/albums/ff479/machi... Next I block paint the model being careful to leave all the panel lines and recessed areas black. Then I paint tools, cable, tracks etc. http://i1237.photobucket.com/albums/ff479/machi... Next using a small dry (no water) brush that I've cut so that the bristles are about 1/8" long I dip just the end into paint and wipe it off on a paper towel. Then I stiple in a camouflage pattern trying to simulate an airbrush. Taking a large - again dry brush I mix the base color with a little white, put paint only on the bottom of the brush, wipe it and dry brush the raised areas and the edges of the model to highlight them. In the case of German 3 color camo this also softens the edges of where I painted them in and kind of blends them into each other. In the case of single color models like the Shermans I will also take the base color with a dry brush and lightly work it in on the center of large flat sections on the model. Next I add a mud color sparingly to the lower section of the hull, wheels etc. Then touch up tools, tracks and other details, add decals and spray with Testors dullcoat. http://i1237.photobucket.com/albums/ff479/machi... This is what the Shermans looked like when I started. http://i1237.photobucket.com/albums/ff479/machi... |

Posted on 07 April 2012 at 10:49:11 GMT Yes, very good. Where did you get all the stowage? Is it included with the models, or did you get it somewhere else? |

Posted on 07 April 2012 at 11:05:16 GMT Thanks. Some of it is from Wargames South sold as a Tank Stowage Set and the rest is from the World Tank Museum Vs set. |

Posted on 02 June 2012 at 19:58:45 GMT Some Pumas, not happy with the one on the right. I tried a new color called Panzer Red Brown by Polyscale - too red for my taste. http://i1237.photobucket.com/albums/ff479/machi... |

Posted on 02 June 2012 at 20:27:57 GMT With teh winter 250/1, did you do the whole model with a dark yellow/olive drab base coat, then do the white over the top, or just went straight to white? I've close to getting some paint on some WGS armour, and tips on doing white would be appreciated! |
