Using the "French Infantry Bttn. (1939-40)" from
http://www.ghqmodels.com/pages/military/squadga... I came up with 12 infantry stands per infantry battalion plus support. With a wide line to defend I thought one HQ wouldn't cope so I split them into two formations.
I also used the Penny-Packets and Poor Combined-Arms Special Rules in the French Army List making them a bit of a handful to control.
CO
HQ(CV7), 6x Infantry, 1x MG, 1 Mortar, 1x 25mm ATG, 1x 47mm ATG
HQ(CV7), 6x Infantry, 1x MG, 1x Mortar, 1x 25mm ATG, 3x Tank Unit (R-35)
FAO, 2x 155mm Artillery Unit
Then for reinforcemnts:
HQ(CV8), 1x Recce Panhard, 3x Somua S35, 1x 25mm ATG Portee, 3x Infantry, 3x Truck
They lost partly due to the numbers of German tanks and no IATW, and partly because the guy playing French missed deploying one of the 25mm ATG.
We have also played ignoring the Penny-Packets rule with the French attacking but that wasn't my scenario & I can't remember the details.
