Does anyone have any tips on stopping static grass laying flat when used on bases? My figures are 15mm by the way.

I usually prepare a 'bath' (this can be a small cardboard box or a cleaned up ice cream tub, whose plastic body can add to the static of the static grass and improve its performance!) of static grass.

Then I place the base into it, using a mix of PVA glue and water on base to collect the static grass; then turn base upside down over the bath of static grass, and tap it from underneath (which is now on top!) to try and create a standing grass look.

It usually works with my 15mm and 20mm. See my Great Northern War 15mm bases photographed and displayed on Irregular Miniatures website as an example.

I'll agree tapping the underneath after application is the secret i've found.

Well, and try to rub some plastic so it becomes static and brush over the grass...

Mine's not for the fainthearted...stuff your PVA & use superglue Cool

Turn upside down & tap as above; I also tend to give my grass a light drybrush of Bleached Bone type colour to dull it a bit - this can help stand it up too if you brush upwards a bit...

...if you want to *really* stand it up, hold it towards your TV screen Smile
