Good Evening!

I am going to be using Pendraken miniatures, and I was wondering if there were any suggestions for how to differentiate between regular infantry and recce infantry. The German battlegroup I am building will have a stand of recce infantry on bicycles, and when dismounted I want the recce to be clear next to the regular infantry stands.

Thanks,

Fletch

Some people like to use different size bases or turn the base round and the short edge becomes the front but these are not for me. I prefer to be a bit more subtle/devious. I use prone or kneeling figures and one with binoculars. They need to be different yes but not so distinct that your opponent can easily target them.

Sounds good to me. I could mount them on a 2 pence coin (360 LOS and all that)... Pendraken's GR64 Artillery Spotters might have figures with binoculars.

Or just put less figures on a stand. The enemy will suss the`re recce by the fact that they`re out front so trying to disguise them won`t work.

Well it's not really a matter of disguising them, I want them to be clear so the players can tell the difference between the recce and regular infantry so the more obvious the better!

My basic infantry have 6 figures, and the recce have 4. To make it even easier to see on the table, the recce bases have a load of trees/bushes as well. See here: http://kiwidave.pbworks.com/BKC-German-Infantry

I use 3-4 figures on a regular stand and 2 for a recce stand.

I use one less figure on a slightly smaller base.

I use two figures instead of four (and use figures with binoculars and radios for many of them) and I rounded off the corners so that the base is more oval than square.
