Hi guys, I was wondering if any of you had ever bought any of the 15mm WW2 stuff from Skytrex, if you have could you tell me what the quality of the figure is like?

I have been using Battlefront's stuff so far, but if i could get something thats as good for cheaper, then thats good news...any help would be appreciated.

There are pictures of the unpainted figs on the Skytrex site and as they are Command Decision figs you can see some painted ones on the Old Glory UK site as well.

More reviews on here - you may have to scroll up and down and over a few pages but there are various comparisons of Skytrex/Old Glory - FOW kit in it:

I buy Old Glory 15mm's, aka Command Decision which (I believe) is the same as Skytrex.

And.... I have zero problems with the vehicles. The infantry is quite a bit thinner (and most likely realistic) than Battlefronts. I just bought about 20-25 tanks for FoW Early War, after seeing the price of the boxed set I figure going the Old Glory route (with their Army Deal - 40% off) it is at least 50% the cost of FoW's figures...

Well i use peter pig infantry, was mainly wondering about the infantry cause a pack of 50 for a tenner is a really good deal.

Also the vehicles, they do appear to offer a few bits of kit which Battlefront don't, so as they seem to fit in well i might get the extra parts from there/

Thanks guys.

The Pig and skytex stuff are compatible, had considerable problems with Skytrex IV's - geting the turret to fit. Problem with the infnatry packs is the 1 type thing, I dont need 50 bren gunners.

Thanks IanS, yeah i agree about the 50 Bren gunners thing, but 50 Riflemen for a tenner is a much better deal.

Same with tank and vehicle commanders.

I use a mix of Skytrex/Peter Pig for my Brits and they mix well, Quality is good for the Brits and the Germans I had, better than Battlefront. I do prefer Peter Pig though as I find the vehicles to be better cast, however Skytrex have a huge range the only problem for me is they don't accept paypal Disapprove

How about starting an exchange service on the forum for all those single poses you don't need?

Hi,

Like Adrian says they also sell 10 man packs. I've used Skytrex figures on some of my 15mm commission painting jobs. For example:
http://gamma.nic.fi/~ajh6/iAugustus/OtherAllies... and http://gamma.nic.fi/~ajh6/iAugustus/OtherAllies...

More can be found at the top level of my Gallery.

I've found them to be quite nice figures and there is some nice poses among them. Here's a comparison shot with some other makes: http://gamma.nic.fi/~ajh6/iAugustus/Misc/15mmCo...

Cheers,

I've OG/skytrex DAK generally good afew ropey poses, prefer BF
Also have Soviets like them alot fit ok with PP, smaller/thinner than old BF but chunkier than the new skinny near zombie like BF.
Vehicles mostly good didn't like the M3 Scout Car tho'.

Skytrex infantry are excellent and recommended. The vehicles are generally good but can be on the small side compared to Battlefront/Peter Pig in many but not all cases.
Note that the Skytrex castings tend to be better than the Old Glory versions which tend to have quite a bit of flash in my experience.
