Hi guys, so i was thinking about building a new force for the game, but was wondering, what is the most common scale to play BKC with?

i have been looking at the Pendraken site for a while and worked out that i could build a pretty good sized force cheaply, but if not many people play in 10mm then there is no point.

Is 10mm or 15,, or any other scale more popular with you guys out there?

Hi Sachiel,

I'm new to the game and just building my first armies now, but my impression is that 10mm is the most common/popular scale, although 6mm isn't far behind.

Peace,

If you mean 'common' as in most popular then its probably 10mmGrin

If you mean 'common' as in cheap and nasty then its probably 10mmSilly

sits back and waits for hail of abuse...Blackeye

Sorry chaps - couldn't resist a laugh at the '10mm brigades' expense - I dont mean it reallyWink

For infantry centred games 15mm is fine. For more AFVs i'd go to 10mm, for loads of AFVs etc I'd go to 6 or even 3mm!

But I'm a cheapskate!

It would be interesting to have a poll of players about the 'periods' (BKC/CWC/FWC)and the scales they play in.

There are about 16 of us in North Leeds/Harrogate that use 15mm.

A lot depends upon who you will be playing with and what scale they may already have. If it is mainly solo gaming, I'd go 10mm.

Would mainly be solo gaming, but i would like the ability to play against anyone who i could meet up with in the foreseeable future, at gaming clubs and such around Yorkshire...

It seems to be that 10mm is the most popular...

Now, where did i put that pendraken linky?

Left the 15mm range in favour of the 10mm range. Reasons: Price and Place. WWII looks better in 10mm than in 15mm on a wargames table. Dueling tanks in 15mm on a wargames table often look like a gun fight in a phone box...but this is my tupence worth only...

10mm for BKC. 15mm if infantry heavy works well though.

I think alot depends on the theatre...15mm in the Pacific or another infantry heavy campaign works great but
Kursk in 15mm would be mighty expensive & need a whopping gert table too!

It seemed such an easy question!
Who would have thought we could be like this?
6mm faction!
15, 20 and up are skirmish sizes.
Being tempted by the 3mm stuff.
