One of the things I was going to order from Pithead was a Sd.Kfz.222, to compare with the Minifigs ones I have.
Can anyone with both Pendraken and Minifigs versions let me know how these two compare?

The Pithead one is not quite as detailed/cleanly cast as the MiniFigs one, but slightly better proportioned.

Dave, thanks for the offer, but I was hoping to know more about the Pendraken one before buying. My recce battalion needs 8 4-wheelers (4 221's, 2 222's, 2 223's) and now Phil won't be moulding the 221 he has mastered I'll have to convert 222's, no small job. Pendraken do a '221 (which I have) but it looks squashed.

Pete, thank you. Pithead's picture does look more convincing than my Minifigs models, which is why I tried to get one. Looks like I'll be buying 6 Minifigs after all.

Wargames South are about to do a Sd.Kfz.222, which will doubtless be very good - more expensive than Minifigs/Pithead/Pendraken, but as good as and cheaper than Panzer Depot, so WGS is what I'll get!

Sancho Panzer:

I was just emailing Phil at Pithead for an order. I told him I was working on a early war Armor Recon Battalion. Phil told me the Sdk 221 is avaliable but not on the web site. I just ordered a couple of them.

Of course Pithead has sold out of 221's so my early war project is delayed againAngry But... my 4 WGS 222's have just arrived, and they're as lovely as I expected! About the same length as Minifigs' 222 but wider, so the proportions look right.
