I have been using these for a while, but usually only to fire concentrations. Recently looking at them again, I find I don't understand how to use them for barrages. It doesn't make sense to me that the barrage area is the same as the concentration area but just square instead of circular. This makes the 2 types of fire more or less identical, as far as I can tell.

Surely a barrage pattern fired by 3 arty units under this option should be 30cm wide by 10cm deep - i.e. 1 arty unit firing into each of 3 10cm x 10cm beaten zones. Barrage for 2 units would be 20cm x 10cm. Only a single arty unit would have the concentration zone and barrage zone much the same.

Would appreciate some explanation if possible.

Many thanks, Keith Flint.

My 2p:

The concentration template will always be a 10cm circle regardless of number of units firing, whereas the barrage template will grow by 10cm each way per addition unit firing.

However, I like they way you've put it, with the beaten zone getting wider, but maintaining the same depth.

Hi Keith, I,ve read that rule . My take is I gun firing 10cm circle . 2 guns firing concentration 15cm circle or 15cm X30cm rectangle barrage , 3guns firing 20cm circle or 20cmx 60cm rectangle barrage . Hope this helps Phil

Isn't it just:

Concentrations are circular with extra batteries placed on top of the first - single batteries always fire a concentration. Hence ROUND AND STACKABLE

Barrages are square with extra battery's templates placed alongside. Hence SQUARE, BUT NOT STACKABLE.
