We play BKC at the low end of organization where 1 stand is a Squad/Tank/Gun.
A problem came about when we started getting to more than 1 company though. For example: US Army, Aug 1944, Infantry Company has a platoon of 57mm ATG (3xGuns, 3xHT). We are fielding 2 companies for a game but the battlegroup limit in the book is 3x57mm ATGs, so (by the book) no ATG's for the second company.
So, are people just ignoring the limits when making historical forces, or are you multiplying the limts by 3 (Which should balance it out) when playing at the lower level?

Yes!! Just ignore the 'in rule' limits if both sides are agreeable to this in order to re-create an order of battle.
I like to play games with historical orders of battle, both down sized and up sized from Pete's rules.
I pay for the "extra" features of Pete's Battlegroup pages so I can switch off these limits when forming a historical tactical organisation there.
But equally you can do this from the paper version and create your own "word" table to compile a tabletop force - just lacks the addition process of Petes table - but I suppose excel spreadsheet could do this for you?

When using historical forces then we let history out-rank game rules, and if playing amongst friends, rather than a competition, then this shouldn't be a problem.
Patrick is a great name, oh yes, mine is Patrick too

If you've got full access to the online battlegroup generator you can set it to ignore minimums & maximums anyway. Very handy!

Yeah, you should just ignore them - the points and limits are only there for convenience, mainly for pick-up games

Thank you all for your comments.
Patrick, I agree that it's a great name.
Pete, we have no problem with the points (except perhaps for the Trenches/Gunpits
) I just didn't want the BKC police kicking in the door if we ignore the maximums.

BKC police? Stormtroopers at the very least, surely!

When I plan out a formation I go on historical TO&Es not the listed game limits.
