Couple of points that came up in a recent game. The second I think was a cunning use of the rules, the first I have no idea on. Any comments welcome.

1. Do command units count (and operate) like ordinary troops when moving with regards to the 5cm proximity rule i.e. troops or other command units cannot move within 5cm of them nor can they move within 5cm of enemy troops.

2. A command unit moved into a hidden minefield. Are its hits removed at the end of the turn. My opponent was deliberately moving 3cm at the end of each turn knowing that the command unit would not be destroyed even if it took three hits as the hits were immediately removed.

2) He can do that if he wants, but if it gets suppressed, he's in trouble...

1) We play that units can move to within 5cm of an enemy command unit without penalty otherwise you would need an assault order to overrun the command unit and previous threads have revealed that command overruns are not the same as a close assault.
2) Not sure why Kiwidave thinks the command unit would be in trouble as the suppressions are removed at the end of your own turn. However, it would seem a good idea that command units that get suppressed when they move stay suppressed for the next turn, and I might use that in my next game. Good idea Kiwidave!

You're right Paul - I forgot that the suppression would come off straight away...

No great penalty to 2/, except it means your HQ isn't moving far which might well bugger up your command roll modifiers/speed of advance quite painfully!
