Posted on 30 October 2012 at 21:42:02 GMT Well yes, but page 30 is close assault, and a command overrun isn't a close assault. Although I grant you that it's very similar, there are differences, for example looking at the overrun rules on p13, only command units can't overrun. But p30 lists other units besides command units, for example recce and infantry support. So, it would follow that you can overrun with a recce unit. Also, as far as I know there is no response fire if you do an overrun. What I am trying to say that you shouldn't assume that all rules for close assault also apply in an overrun. The rules as written say that you move into contact, and roll the dice. That's it. So my take is that if you move the halftrack in contact, you roll with it's CA dice. Ofcourse, you can move up the halftrack with one action, then dismount the infantry with a second action, and move it into contact to conduct the overrun with a third action. But that may be a bit too much to try. |
