May I close assault a single enemy unit with two friendly units?

Do both friendly units use their full CA value? Or am I limited to one assaulting unit + one supporting unit?

Thanks

Yes, but you need to get one in the front, then one in the flank/rear.

The unit assaulting by the flank/rear must she begin her assault move in the flank/rear arc of the target unit ?

Contact (p30): "A unit must contact the nearest visible base edge of the enemy unit and each base edge may only be contacted by one unit". So the answers seem right to me.

Resolution (p31): "Calculate the attacks for all units in contact with the enemy using the ASSAULT column of the army lists, then apply any relevant modifiers from the table ..." So both friendly units use their full A value as long as they are both on contact.

Hope that helps

That's "CA value" and "in contact" - it's past my bedtime!

Follow up question please.

If I have an armored transport (sdkfz 251) with infantry loaded and wish to assault an enemy unit...

do I make a single command roll, give an assault order to the transport which moves, contacts the enemy thereby causing my infantry to deploy in base contact with the enemy?

Would both my transport and infantry count as assaulting? Or would my infantry only get to participate as a supporting unit?

Thank you

I think you will find that the infantry dismount to do the assault and the transport drops back to the rear edge of the infantry and counts as a supporting unit.
