Posted on 05 October 2012 at 23:32:15 GMT Hi guys, I´m wondering whether the command value of any CO or HQ means this is the total of orders the command unit may issue to any units /formations or the maximum of orders it may issue to one formation and then, with resetted CV, the same maximum of orders to another formation. Example for the ladder variant: my HQ (8) isues orders to a rifle platoon. The dice roll well, so the platoon gets 7 orders in a row. As the HQ mustn´t issue further orders to this platoon, it decides to issue orders to a tank platoon. Again there will be up to 7 orders issued... Personally I think this isn´t correct. I suppose the HQ (8) may issue a maximum of 8 orders to any units / formations, but max. 7 successive orders to the same unit / formation. This version would fit to the statement on page 12 of the rulebook which says "The higher the value, the more orders the command unit is likely to issue in a turn." So, what is he correct way? |

Posted on 06 October 2012 at 09:16:19 GMT A HQ (8) with 7 orders in a row doesn't roll well. It rolls extremely, unbelievably, mind-boggingly well. You have to roll for each order, so so need to roll a 8 (or less), then a 7, 6, 5, 4, 3 and finally a 2. All on two D6. And that is without extra minuses for distance and so on. So yes "The higher the value, the more orders the command unit is likely to issue in a turn." But the chances of an HQ issuing a full set of orders are very small. |

Posted on 06 October 2012 at 11:43:44 GMT Okay, so let´s say I have this one day in a lifetime, all dierolls are to the maximum. My HQ first issues 7 orders to a rifle platoon, then 7 orders to a tank formation, next 7 orders to a mortar platoon. This means, my HQ issued 21 orders in this turn. That´s really the way it goes? |
