HI

Do units that take hits from a minefield roll for suppression. Also if they take hits from enemy fire whilst in the minefield and are suppressed,do they just stay where they are.

Cheers

From memory:
a) Yes
b) Yes (and would take hits form the minefield, or are KO'd - can't remeber which)

b) No - they may be forced to fall back like normal and take hits from the minefield.

Page 21, 2nd bullet point under fall back: Units falling back into non-dummy minefields are KO'ed.
Page 35, effects of minefields: Units that fall-back or retreat in a non-dummy minefield are KO'ed.
Page 35, unmarked minefields cause suppressions, so I would treat all minefields as causing suppressions.

Hi Jim

Page 35 helps you out here....

(1) Unmarked Minefields - "....the unit will take this number of attacks....Continue testing one unit at a time until either one unit is suppressed or knocked-out...". So Yes.....minefield hits test for suppression.

(2) The Effects of Minefields - "Units that fall back or retreat when they are in a non-dummy minefield are knocked out". This is also in the Reference Sheet under Fall-back.

(i) An unsuppressed unit in a minefield can be suppressed using usual fire rules.
(ii) An already suppressed unit that take further unsaved hits will fall-back and be auto destroyed.

Hope that helps

Ps ....Minefields are dangerous. Blackeye

Especially when the Polish player covers them with all of his AT, AA and his on table arty support - but I've said all this before. Sad
