I just want to check and make sure we did this right as we had to hunt through different parts of the rules and hoping we didn't miss anything.

3 Sdkfz 251/1 carrying 3 infantry assaulting 3 tanks.
Issue order to move (with assault)
Half tracks move into base to base (front) with tanks.
Response from tanks is to shoot Half tracks.
-- A Kill on the half track will kill the infantry
-- A suppression also suppresses the infantry
Surving Infantry deploy into Base to base (flank) of tanks

Then for the Assault resolution the +1 for each unit assualting the enemy is for the active player only?

If i'd been doing this with trucks instead of halftracks, I believe I'd have to move near, deploy and then assault move, taking 3 commands instead of the one with the armoured transport. Unless you are allowed to deploy into base to base Contact, which would reduce it to 2 commands?

Do I have that lot right?

I thought that the 251/1 counts as an AFV and can't assault the the tank therefore not moving into base contact.

Yeah, just spotted the bit about AFV's not being able to assault another AFV.

So that leaves one question, can you do a deploy command into base to base?

Nothing stopping the infantry assaulting and the Sdkfz's supporting the assault with machine guns (giving an extra dice to the assault).

And don't forget that it's -1 on your order to assault enemy troops (unless it's done in the initiative phase, or you're SS or some other elite stuff).

Command stands can't assault (but can be assaulted in a command overrun).

My main force is Fallschirmjaeger but due to the scenario I was fielding mostly Heer, with this one company of SS in reserve and his tanks didn't have any infantry support, so I kinda had to give it a shot.

However it does mean for that example that all the hits should go straight to the infantry, rather than the transports.
