Not a rule question exactly but I don't understand why SPGs get a plus one when artillery is requested. Maybe I'm thick, but they are the same guns as the towed ones, so why the advantage?

Better answer - take much less time to set up properly.

But artillery requests were made to batteries that were set up and waiting for such, not those still moving around weren't they?

Not always, it's also a way of rpresenting the better signals, with 1 Radio per gun.

They can also relocate much faster when they need to, ie: when avoiding CB fire and when using roving gun positions to avoid detection.

True Pete, but that makes more survivable after they have fired. Unless you assume the modern doctine and each battery moves every time it finishes a fire mission in a high threat enviroment. So the mod should apply for 2nd missions ? (No).
