Hi

how do you guys rule on the use of panzerfaust etc being used from inside buildings, this has come up a couple of times and i cannot find specifics in the rules covering the issue.

also do others use the suppression rules from cold war commander to deal with infantry fire against the likes of halftracks etc?

look forward to any replys from more experienced players

Assume the operator is intelligent enough to fire from outside. If you are using Platoon scale that is. If using section scale mount the weapon on a soearate base for the bazoozka/shreck, and it fires from where it is.

Looks like the bit about suppression of half tracks was missed out?! So here goes....

And you have probably hit on an area that has changed in BKC2 and may not be clear - and I am out of practice so maybe I am not clear but here goes...

As an armoured vehicle only anti tank type rounds could knock or suppress (or air attacks or fire from artillery) as I read the current rules. (see the bits in rules about open topped afvs too)

when used as unarmoured transport - and I am not sure if this is still an option (trying here to differentiate between the armoured personel carrier as opposed to a truck type vehicle with half track capability) then any soft vehicle like transport can be KO'd or suppressed by Rifles / MG / HE fire etc; but not anti tank fire unless the gun has HE capability (see the two shooting columns in rules which clarify who can and cannot for this).

I am not sure if this explanation is clear and others may see rules differently as I am out of practice with BKC2

But hope that helps or stirs others to respond and offer other views?

The question relating to the suppression rule was that we played a game that involved american infantry and german panzergrendiers mounted in half tracks. I found apart from lobbing mortar fire on them ( which did work well in achieving suppression results )there was not a lot else that I could do until they reached close assault range.
By using the suppression rules from CC the infantry have a chancing of doing something earlier to break up the attack.

Thanks to all that have responded to the questions posed much appreciated.
