An interesting little tidbit of info was mentioned on "Greatest Tank Battles" the other day. That being the JS-II had a really slow rate of fire as the crew had to elevate (lower the barrel) the breech to re load after firing. This got me thinking if the unit should not have a special rule for this situation. I was thinking of something like;
Slow Firing
The unit suffers an extra -1 command penalty for second and subsequent fire orders (ie first shot no penalty, second fire order -2 rather then -1, etc.)

Note: Haven't actually tried this, it was just something that went through my mind when I heard about the problem. As always opinions welcome.Wink

maybe you could try "no fire on consecutive orders"? Once a JS II has fired then it can't fire on the next order, it must move or do nothing, next order it can fire again and so on

Further to the above, maybe Pete has taken the slow rate of fire into account when fixing the AT value?

Well, he did lower the AT rating from 6 to 5. Not sure that relates to the tactical advantage the German tankers mentioned on the show when dealing with the JS-IIs.

The JS-II has lower rate of fire and limited ammunition too like other russian assault gun SU-152/JSU-152.I have posted
this question to Pete in BKC1 and Pete answers me that this
factors could be on the new rulebook (BKC-2).

I don't think anything is mentioned in the BKCII rules.

REally would only affect 1-1 play, ignore it if going at higher level.

A russian problem with their heavy tanks and assault guns was the ammunition. It came in two parts and had to be assembled before the shot, resulting in very slow fire rates.
