Now this is a rules query...!

Now BKCII has AT ratings does that mean that infantry without an AT rating can't touch armour?
I recall in BKCI that there was a chance of suppressing armour and not counting actual 'hit'.

But not now then? So no more driving off armour by sheer weight of fire (as happened) taking out scopes, arials and commanders?

Pg 30 says, "Close assault...represents...infantry attacking tanks with ant-tank weapons..."

I could be wrong, but I think the only way that infantry without an AT upgrade can attack armour in BKC2 is by close assault. The close assault would represent things like molotov cocktails, Gammon grenades, satchel charges, and other improvised weapons and attacks.

Must say that , in most 1940-42 situations, the lack of the effect where sheer weight of smalls arm fire slows down armour (plenty of egs) a bit odd.
Tempted to use BKC1, '6 then 6' supresses idea and only apply to certain armies or where the armour save is a 6.

Related to this is the infantry close assault on armour. Played a game where a Sd231 (8 wheel 20mm and MG armd car) platton in the open was jumped by a french in platoon (1940 so no AT rifles, no teller mines like hard bitten eastern front vets, no AT grenades). Armd car CA2. Inf wins without support. Ok tad unlucky/bad positioning but we already apply a +1 assault bonus for 'tank experienced inf' vs arnour in woods/BUAs. So wondering about a minus for poorly experienced/equipped inf vs armour in open.

Any way thanks for thoughts.
