Looking through my copy of BKC, there don't seem to be wagons as transport options, which I'd need for a Greek army in '41. Would horses or trucks be better? I'd personally plump for horses, but I'd like to know what you guys do.

I think it would be safe to assume that the Transport Unit (Horses/Mule) could also include wagons. Just use the stats in the Greek list for horses/mules.

My thoughts too. In fact, I had just assumed that horse transport meant horse-drawn wagons, rather than just pack horses.

I would use the truck stats but reduce movement to 10.

I wonder if we should have a field gun and horse gun rate for early war (and even late into war) horse drawn artillery.

I am thinking of giving horse artillery a 20 move rate and 10 for field artillery and using an extra pair of draught horses to distinguish horse from field artillery.

"I wonder if we should have a field gun and horse gun rate for early war (and even late into war) horse drawn artillery."

Already assumed under the notes for the horse transport unit; "May tow one gun unit."

"I would use the truck stats..."

Why? It is easier to take out a horse then a truck.

I am thinking Horse Arty faster / longer move than Field.

I am not experienced in these arts but cutting out a wounded horse seems easier than replacing finding new tyres or new petrol tank after these are pierced by Rifle / MG/ HE splinters etc?

How many wargames allow you to "switch" out a wounded/killed horse? Once the unit has taken all it's hits then it is removed whether it is an equine or a Ford.

Granted what you are thinking was probably true at the time in the real world.
