So, I read from the errata that bombers can only carry out scheduled attacks, i.e as air assets, which makes sense. However, take the Afrika Korps list for example. 2 types of bomber listed, but no bomber assets available. Am I just being very dense here?

There isn't such a thing as separate bomber assets - just use ground attack ones.

Yes Pete, sort of answered my own question by reading the lists properly thanks, but it leads me on to a second question; if bombers can only be used as assets, and generally lists have 2 air assets at the most, why would anyone ever pay 110 points for a bomber they can use once, when they could buy a divebomber or a ground attack for less points (with admittedly less dice), still use it for scheduled attacks and with an FAO potentially use it every turn as well?

Well, bombers really aren't used that often ON the battlefield as opposed to off of it...

I suppose so, KD, and I agree Tinned, bombers were always more strategic/interdiction rather than tactically.

Except when Monty wanted some to help (try) to get out of Normandy, with unspectacular results. So there is a precedent. Still decidedly scheduled, but it was supposed to be part of the immediate battle.

Well, Tigers being flipped upside down by bombs would be spectacular results but the results of the army following up were decidedly not.
