Hi Guys

On turn 3 of my second only game of BKC-II and really enjoying it, thanks Pete. I just want to make sure that I have this right (I think I have according to the rules as written).

Anyway, as troops on foot do not count High Area Terrain as 'Dense'(table on page 140), they do not take the -1 modifier for moving into, through, or out of, dense terrain (page 12). Is this correct?

My main reason for querying this is that it is my understanding that it is actually quite difficult controlling any troops (including those on foot) in the types of terrain that High Area Terrain represents. For what it is worth this is also based on some personal experence of being deployed in BUA (NI) in the 1970's

Cheers Paul

Pete

Is the distinction made because it would otherwise "encourage" the use of armoured units in these areas?

Yes to a certain extent. If infantry had a penalty, vehicles would have to have an even greater penalty, which I didn't want to do.

Nice & simple way of achieving a desired result without overburdening players with modifiers, like it Smile

That's the idea. I wanted to keep as many modifiers to +/-1, much easier to remember. I think the only -2 mod is in CWC for 1st generation stabilisation.
