This thought occurred to me last night, it didn't come up since my opponent only had one plane but can an AA unit or Command unit fire at every enemy aircraft that enters their range in a turn. Or are they limited to one shot per turn?

They can only fire at one aircraft per order, so if your opponent brings on two aircraft at the same time, a command unit or AA unit can only fire at one of them.

Ah. Finally I understand why you'd accept taking the penalty to call in more than one aircraft at a time. Thanks Pete.

On the subject of AA how are airborne FAO treated? Do they get shot at if they finish their move within range of an AA unit?

I asked this a while ago. Pete's answer was that after command units move, they can be the target of AA fire.

OK I am all in favour of just letting the AA fire at one aircraft per order phase but the rules themselves seem to suggest that you can shoot AA at all attacking aircraft not just one per order phase:

"Once the hit point has been determined the following units may use anti.aircraft fire against each aircraft unit:"

That's on page 28. Can't see anything that says that the AA can only fire at one aircraft per order phase, quite the oppsoite rally. Or is there different info somewhere that is not included in the AA section? Or some errata somewhere?

It's in the CWC Errata but doesn't seem to have made it into the BkC one yet.
