my question is simply how many times can a command stand receive a command bonus from recce units in any given turn?
In a large game where you can have multiple command units it would be possible to give several +1's to the same command stand.

Secondly should spotting from Recce units be against a concealed enemy unit only, rather than any enemy unit?

1)You can give +1 at the closest Command unit for the current turn. EX. A HQ with value of 8 has a 9 for the turn that recce
unit has a succesfull comunication with it in the initiative phase.
2) the rules say "measure distance from the nearest enemy unit".

1.OK, but if you use 3 Recce units, each with a successful communication roll, do you give the command stand a +3. Therefore a HQ cv8 would become cv11
2. Yes the rule says this, but constantly spotting a unit that has been spotted does lend itself to some abuse of the Recce Rule.Sad

Hi Pontic,

Pete replied on the following thread on the subject: http://www.specialist-military-publishing.co.uk...

Only one +1 or action per command unit. Your recces will basically communcate with the closest unsuppressed command unit that hasn't been in a succesfull communication with a recce yet.

As Leonardo says recces use the closest enemy unit concealed or not.

Pete excludes enemy command units from the possible recce targets in the thread I linked to. But our group uses a house rule where you choose whether you want to use the enemy command unit as the target unit or use the closest non-command unit. This way you need to pay a price for pushing the command units at the front of your troops too much. But you still can't fire at enemy command units even this way. If the enemy command unit is the target of the recce the only possible option is the +1CV benefit.

I'm curious what do you count as an "abuse of the Recce Rule"?

I can't see any abuse from using the same unit as the recce target for number of turns. Your recce unit rely more and more info on the enemy and your commanders act upon the info..
