This has been classified as a Demolition Unit (Eng Arm Of Service) but how does this work?

a) Does it have to be adjacent to a building and roll to destroy during the iniative phase ( page 34 Demolition )
or
b) Does it target a building with its gun at a range of 10 during the command phase?
or
c) Does it use the remote demolition rule? ( page 34 )

Hello,

"Churchill Armoured Vehicle Royal Engineers (AVRE) mounted a 290mm Petard spigot mortar which fired a demolition charge to approximately 80 yards, unfortunately the spigot mortar had to be reloaded from outside the vehicle."

So I would say either a or b with a lean towards b.

Hey

So does a Churchill Bridging Unit (which has the spigot mortar attack as well) have the ability to destroy buildings like the AVRE demolition unit? after all they are the same tank... just one has a great big bridge attached to it!

Be difficult to use with the bridge in place.

Similar things with AVRE's with Fascines on the front. Can 'collapse' an AT ditch unless has fired first?
