We just had an game involving a Italian Inf Div being pursued by the 7th Arm Bge. Several questions arose in the game

I have only just noticed that the CA in initiative is different to CA in the command phase. Initiative Counterfire para last line states Troops suppressed during the assault move continue to make contact. But CA response last sentence adds Troops suppressed during an assault move may remain at the point came under fire. This subtle change as probably been missed by most people.

1 CO/HQ if they are forced to fall back do they have to stop if they run into friendily troops? In our situation it was a column on the road we allowed the HQ to do its 5cm free move and then fall back.

2 Does a CO/HQ that fallback due to CA have to roll for supression?

3 Does the hits on CO/HQ give a modifier to command rolls next turn? We played it this way but I think thats only if you are using commanders as units.

4 Trucks carrying Inf were CA the INF deploy to meet the attack, do we (a) move the attacker back to give room for the defending INF to be place or (b) move the truck back?

5 If above the INF are destroyed does this effect the truck. Can my consolidate move overrun the empty truck?

6 If the truck above was supressed and the defending suppressed INF now have to fall back into it are the INF destroyed?

7 Can you when close assaulting pass nearer than 5cm to units to attack another unit? We had troops at the side of the road and another at the end, the attacker moved down the road infront of these suppressed troops to attack the one at the end.

8 In CA can you support if you are being CA? we said no.

9 If you support in the Initiative phase is this classed as your iniative action? Ie I support an attacking unit CA he wins I then CA with the support unit against another unit and recive support from the unit that CA.

10 Can you pass through friendily units to CA

11 In CA must you move directly towards the enemy or can you move around and assault flanks/rear? Situation VIb move 30 was 5cm from Inf given CA so could move all the way round to the back of the unit and hit from the rear.

12 Troops in a line with 180 degree line of fire if the troop next to them is CA do they give support? We said if a line of 5 Inf and the centre one is attacked by a tank the 2 Inf directly to the Left and right can support but the 2 on the outside cannot as looking along other troops.

13 CA of CO/HQ can you ignore other enemy nearer troops to attack CO/HQ? or must it be the nearest.

Sorry about length of question just this scenario threw up lots of debate

What are you trying to do to me! Grin

First off, command overrun is not close assault - that should resolve some issues you've been having.

1. Yes they move through other units

2. No

3. No

4. Move the truck back

5. No

6. Yes

7. Yes

8. No

9. No

10. Yes

11. Yes, you can move anyway you like

12. Yes they can

13. You can ignore
