Picture the scene. A nice, rural road, 5cm across, bounded by linear obstacles either side. A unit of infantry is lining one hedge, so has 2.5cm space behind it to the next hedge. It's suppressed, then forced to fall back 4cm.

QuestionDoes the unit
a) Fall back to the obstacle and stop
b) Fall back to the obstacle and is then destroyed as it cannot pass through it because it hasn't halted at it.
c) Fall back the full distance
d) Some other that we couldn't think up.

I remember that in BKC One, it was c), but not sure if things have changed here.

As hedges aren't impassable to infantry, the infantry fall-back through it OK.

So the rule is if it's totally impassible, say mountains, the unit is destroyed.

Excellent, cheers.

The question arose on a terrain dense table with bocage all over the shop. We said that vehicles could not breach the bocage, so when my Jagdpanther was forced to fall back into some, it was knocked out, but when his infantry retreated across the road, we thought it a little harsh to say they couldn't get back.

sorry to jump in on this thred,

i had a game today and i had german's on oneside or a deep river and british on the other bank of the river and i got the command blunder again for the germans to advance full move towards the nearest visable enemy, so what would happen?

I would play it that you don't move the German troops because (presumably) the river is impassable. However, I would say that the Germans have broken cover and are visible and do not get the cover bonus until they get a command (or initiative move) to move them back into cover.
