The following question popped up in our player group:

during the initiative phase a unit of the phasing player moves into contact with an enemy command unit. is this considered a move or an assult? can units within 10cm of the command unit open fire on the overrunnning unit?

Because you use your close assault dice during an overrun, I would consider it as an assault and allow the supporting fire. The rules (as I read and understand them) do not seem to give a clear answer either way.

You can support by firing only for the defender I believe. So if you move contact with enemy cmd unit your(the attacker) couldn't response fire at the target unit in the assault process anyway..

No, it's a special rule for the command overrun - don't read more into a rule than it says on the page Wink
