I'm still only half way through reading the new edition, but I must say the book looks damn smart. Well done Pete! Extra kudos for pushing the early war instead of the normal Tigers and so on

Here's a minor detail that caught my eye and I'd like to have a clarification on what was your intention. Soviet SMG tank riders with LMGs. They have the normal 6/10 AP attacks and get 1/30 vs soft targets in the notes. Can you combine them or only use eithet one of the two(a la AP&AT attacks)?

I.e Do the tank riders with LMGs have AP attacks

-5cm: 9 (both SMGs and LMGs at half range)
-10cm: 8 (SMGs at normal range and LMGs at half range)
-15cm: 2 (LMGs at half range)
-30cm: 1 (LMG at normal range)

or

-5cm: 7 (SMGs at half range)
-10cm: 6 (SMGs)
-15cm: 2 (LMGs at half range)
-30cm: 1 (LMG at normal range)

No great deal of difference for a single unit. But I'm sure the 5-10cm range will come up regularly and for two units firing it's already 12 vs 16 die...

Now that we're talking about soviet tank riders...

Are soviet SMG squads the only units that can use tenks as transport? they seem to be the only units that have a note in the army lists that say they can do so. In the main rules the only thing on tank riders is that they can be attacked rather than the tank they're on, but I don't find anything saying that (other) units can't ride tanks.

Is my interpretation that only units allowed by the army lists (soviet smg squads in other words) can ride tanks and all others not?
