I am transferring a 600 point FOW force over to BKCII and have a couple questions. My figures are based to FOW standards, one stand equals a fire team. Can I keep this same convention in BKCII or should I treat each stand as a squad or does it even matter? I FOW, 9 infantry stands are 3 squads, or a platoon. Counting them as squads would make those same 9 stands 3 platoons, or a company.

Also, when the army list says "infantry upgrade" does that mean one stand is "upgraded" to say a M9 Bazooka and would cost 50+40=90 (in the case of regular inf)? My bazooka's are based separately per FOW conventions, can I use that still, paying 40 for the unit or should I be adding a bazooka to an infantry stand and paying 90?

The US army list (NWE 6/44 - 5/45) lists one Support MG unit "MG, Browning". Is there no distinction between the .30 cal 1917 and 1919's and the M2 .50 cal which was a significantly more powerful weapon, used in anti-vehicle and anti-aircraft roles as well as anti-personnel?

Speaking of MG's, how do you reflect MG armed Jeeps? The Jeep listing has no offensive stats. Should I just pay for the support MG in addition to a Jeep?

Lastly, regarding artillery, I want to have 4 x 105mm guns. If I have them off table, I need to buy assets as well, but if they are on table I do not buy assets? Also, when the assets say 4 x HE (10 pts each), that is 10 points for 4, not 10 points for each one ie 40 points, right? I would need to buy assets for each gun, not for the 4 gun battery as a whole, is that correct?

Thanks for the help, I am a BKCII neophyte so go easy on me please!

1) up to you!
2) the upgrade is per base - you could call your 'Bazooka' bases upgraded and the others as 'not'. This is new to BKCII as well, lots of us are gonna have to buy and base more Bazookas, Piats, Fausts etc!
3) the 30 cal is factored into the ordinary infantry base
4)MG on vehicles are regarded as fairly lame in BKC, so are factored in as irrelevant.
5) you don't HAVE to buy assets - your FAO can call in off-table artillery fire- a guy on the radio calling in fire as the fight develops. Assets represent 'Right Chaps. Tomorrow at noon the 3rd Company are assaulting St Quentin. we will lay down a barrage of supporting fire at 11.55'. As you guessed you pay 10 points for one gun to fire once in a named turn. Some armies had poor fire control and benefit from assets. others not so much.

Hi Buzzkill

I use a 9 stand platoon from FoW as a 9 stand battalion in BKC.

I based my FoW bazooka teams facing the narrow edge of small bases - I can put them next to 'spare' command stands to get 'upgraded' teams. I bought some Peter Pig 15mm command packs to do HQ stands on circular bases for BKC. Ppig also sell packs of bazooka men/teams so you could make extra bases this way too. The Ppig figs seem fairly ok next to FoW stuff.

I'd keep the tripod mounted .30cals (I forget which model is which!) for use as MMG stands. The bipod version I'd leave as an infantry team. I have US paras so I've not been too worried about .50cals!

Does the British Desert list have stats for SAS/LRDG style armed jeeps?

Sane Max is spot on about the artillery assets etc.

cheers
