The Matilda et al, now have 1/40 vs soft targets on early list. My understanding is that the 2pdrs they didn't have HE capability (at least worthwhile early on or readily available until later in the war). Wondering as to the change? New info?

Thank you - I still remember sitting at the mercy of 88's with only a small hope of supressing them - any chance you could increase the range to ... I don't know... about 70?Angry

All non-HE tanks now have a soft-attack as long as they have a machine gun or two Smile

Along this line, I was wondering if, now that there is an Anti-personnel fire factor whether the modifier for armour vs. unarmoured targets within 20 is necessary?

Yes as regular AFVs don't have MGs factored into their attacks Wink

Should early British or other tanks with no AP capability from their main armament get the +1 attack for MGs within 20cm when their AP firepower is already based on their MG?

I ask because, in a game last night, German infantry assaulted my Valentines and each tank got 3 shots at them on the way in, 1 basic, +1 short range, +1 AFV within 20cm.

As I have pointed out once or twice - till end of 41 the RAC policy was not to issue HE to tanks, as it was assumed that the MG's were more effective. Thius extended to the Honey's as well as 2pdr gun armed tanks.

HE always existed for the 2pdr, just not given to tank crew.
