Posted on 18 October 2009 at 12:02:20 GMT We weren't quite sure how to use bunkers this weekend. We had two bunkers with PAK in them. But then what? Do you target the bunker with 4+ or the unit within with 6+? Does the unit get some form of save (6+)? We did not find anything in the rulebook. |

Posted on 18 October 2009 at 12:45:12 GMT There are rules for knocking out the bunker itself that used to be in the downloads but I believe may be in BKCII. I use 6+ (hard cover rules) to hit the unit in the bunker and give ATG's a 4+ save as well! makes 'em hard to kill but it can be done as it was in my last BKC East Front game. |

Posted on 18 October 2009 at 13:13:00 GMT It says on CWC that troops in fortifications that are forced to fall back or retreat are KO'd. Unless the optional rules for structures are used. This tells me that the troops are targeted (at 6 to hit), not the bunker itslef. |

Posted on 18 October 2009 at 13:38:06 GMT Hi Pete: Units in fortifications that fallback are KOed. I have always assumed that this is if their fallback is more than 10 (as per other trenches etc.). It doesn't actually specify this in the text (in both BKC and CWC) and has come up. Have I been correct? I assumed so since hardened positions are not that tough in BKC and if it is just a question of falling back without the 10cm rule that would make them even less impressive. Cheers, Chris |

Posted on 18 October 2009 at 15:12:12 GMT I would say that they are KO'd as soon as they are driven back. This would be the attacking troops gunning them down as they left the bunker ala the opening scenes in Private Ryan. |
