Posted on 18 October 2009 at 10:02:59 GMT I am getting ready to order some figs in anticipation of BKC II's release and had a question about types of units and how to base them. Keep in mind, I have only read the "Lite" rules and have not seen the full national OOB's, only the starter battlegroups available for download on this site. Are their units like bazooka teams that need to be individually based (like MG support teams) or are they factored into the infantry bases? What about snipers, scouts, etc? What other units would I need to plan on other than inf., CO, HQ, FAO, and armor and arty? Thanks - |

Posted on 18 October 2009 at 12:20:18 GMT I base my squads with 6 men, purely because there are 6 hits to a base of infantry. I normally have one machine gun crew per base and one mortar per base. In my infantry squads there are Panzerfausts and Panzershrecks, but I think in the new rule set they are separate. CO/HQ, there was an interesting thread about doing diorama bases for these, so they stand out (and give you a chance to be more creative), the same for FAO and FAC. There is no set sizes for bases so it's basically up to you, do what pleases you really. |

Posted on 18 October 2009 at 12:29:04 GMT I am using FoW bases, they look nice and are readily available. I plan on putting infantry on the medium bases, and support on small bases and CO/HQ on big bases. I guess I will need to hold of to get the new rules before I order any stuff, I was just wondering if I needed to have separate support Bazooka teams or just mix in a Bazooka here and there on my infantry squad bases. |

Posted on 18 October 2009 at 13:37:19 GMT I am not asking what size bases to use, I asking what kind of units I will need to base. Are bazooka or panzerfaust based separately as support units like MG's or are they incorporated into the infantry bases and stats. |

Posted on 18 October 2009 at 13:48:44 GMT In BKC Bazookas and panzerfaust are incorporated into inf. bases and you can used A/T attacks (5/10 for americans and 5/10- 10/5 for German)or normal attacks. |

Posted on 18 October 2009 at 15:39:39 GMT As Tostig says I understand in BKCII Bazooka and Schrek/fausts are dealt with differently than before so may be based separately. FoW style basing will still work as this is what I did with my 15mm stuff. |

Posted on 20 October 2009 at 11:23:57 GMT I'm going to do 15mm and I'll be basing all infantry anti tank weapons and 50mm+ mortars separately. Infantry will be based 3 or 4 to a base with 1/3 featuring a Bren etc (on 50x32mm-is that the FOW size?) This is basically to allow me to field a squad of 2 rifle bases and a LMG fire team should I which to use a bigger scale. I could use this configuration for PBI or IABSM I would have thought. All my stuff is based for PBI at the moment and the 30mm bases feel a little crowded. |
