I painted a British ONESS battlegroup up for use with FWC and/or Iron Cow, using a super fast, basic paint job:

The Renedra bases were great...very easy to use, although I'm still working out how to base up the infantry.

Anyway, I'm looking for suggestions for my CDSU forces, in terms of painting / camo schemes.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Hi Jim - good job.

I notice on your blog you're going to paint some RAF desert airforce. I'm working on some similar models, blenheims, hurribombers, bostons and marylands from H&R. I'm using Vallejo paints and find flat earth works well as the dark earth camo colour but have tried a variety of colours for the sand part of the scheme (dark sand, tan yellow, khaki, buff) but none seem quite right. Are you going to use Vallejo and if so which colours? Sorry, I realise this is off topic, but thought I'd ask anyway.

Cheers

Sediment, I've done RAF Desert Airforce for a WW2 plane aerial wargame in 1/300th scale (Check Your 6). I used Humbrol acrylics for the colours. I'll have to check the exact numbers but they look fine to me. If you have a model shop near you they may be able to advise or get details form the Humbrol/Airfix website. I'll have a look at home for the numbers and try to post over the weekend.

Thanks Gary. Hobbycraft is nearest model shop - don't think they offer a lot of advice. If you do get a chance to post the paint refs I'd be grateful. I'm happy with the earth colour I'm using, but the sand tones either seem too yellow or too pale when compared with photos in my reference books or on the internet.

Cheers
