anyone know or help me out...

I do not want to pay out the amount of bling that GW, Forgeworld and Ebay are demanding these days.

so looking for cheaper options...

For fighter, Fighter-bomber and Bombers.

No specifically Orcish ones, but a load of WWI, II, and modern from H&R, smaller range from Scotia, and Skytrex do a large range as well.

SF stuff - GZG, DRM, Old Crow, Adler ? and quite a few others.

I'd suggest conversions of the chunkier WWI stuff to get that "Orcish" appearance.

I've looked at the WWI and II stuff and it all looks to sleek or slim to be orkish.

I've looked at alot of Modern day types as well and they are also to sleek looking. And then the sci-fi ones I've seen are to Elf looking, all fancy and well made, I want a Junker one that's been slapped together sort of look.

I'd even consider Imperial Guard Thunderbolts and Marauders, [and the shadowsword and Baneblades as Gunfotress and Battlefortress tanks] just as a way to flesh the force out. It seems IG tanks are alittle bit cheaper then the Ork big tanks.

The other thing I want is some kind of Ork landa to transport the HUGE mob I'll need to make.

I may even need two landa's

so if you got any sites or manufacture who might/could make some thing let me know. I'd currently bidding on some Thunderbolts but my chances are pretty slim will know more in a couple of days.

Look more at bombers like Lancasters and add bits.

For large dropship transport types consider airships etc...

I'd have thought a bit of kit bashing on things like Brewster Buffalo's, Corsair F4's, EE Lightnings or early Mig jets would work well - they're stubby, tubby beastie things just like the fighta-bomba's from GW...

I have a 1/100th Ju-52 from Zvesda I'm considering chopping a bit to make an Ork Landa, but I'd be willing to bet the Me323 from H&R in 1/300th would make an excellent Landa as is!

I think with regards to the migs they have sweeping wings that bug me. The ork planes I want would have straight wings with some kind of jet engine rather then propellers. I think I need to see some pics of the Me323 and Ju-52..

Also what the hell do I use for Def-koptas???

Take a look at Ral Partha - they do a range for Crimson Skies which may help, but a bit big.

On conversions, take a razorback P47, and the wings from a bristol fighter. Remove the cockpit and hollow, remove and replace the wings with the Brisfit ones, a biplane P47...

Not tried that one though.

Def-koptas - H&R do the German WWII thing which shold look ok.

sent a request to H&R for some pics of the helicopter and the Me 363, Ju-52

see what they look like. I think the Me 363 will need the wings flipped around so the props look like jet engines.

How about some WWI BiPlanes with jet engines strapped to the wings? Wouldn't that be the truly orkish thing to do?

atMadole: dude that Saab 29 Tunnan is perfect for what I am wanting...

WHO MAKES it in 1:285? I can't find anyone who is making it.

as for the MiG 15 its to long the Saab is short and fat which is a truly orky aircraft.

atianrs54: Baccuss didn't have anything I liked besides the Human bomber which looked cool. Irregular to me look like a lump of lead. [sorry if I have offended anyone but Irregular stuff doesn't do it for me at all.]

now if I can find the Saab I can use it as my fighter plane then all I need is a Fighter-bomber and/or Bomber.

The Me363 may end up as my Landa with its wings flipped around and shortened.

Cheers

The Tunnan ( or for that matter a Mig 9) would be perfect- sadly I don't know if anyone makes a model - I only really know about it as I have thing about short fat aircraft- not sure what Freud would make of that.

You might be best of trying to make a Mig 15 fatter using greenstuff or such like

MiG 15:
http://www.raidenminiatures.co.uk/resources/Mig...

would the Orks consider an A-10 something orcish or just not quite???

http://simhq.com/forum/files/usergals/2010/10/f...

I'll keep hunting

A10s would seem more Imperial to me, but I guess you could Orky-fy them quite easily...

The Mig-15 is a shoe in though Smile

I'll be getting the Mig 15, I am trying to see if I can get some extra. Rocket pods, missiles, I'll also add some of the or heavy weapons to or it up.

Just need to find something to use as a fighter-bomber, bomber and a landa .

its really hard to make a decision on an item with out seeing it first hand.

I do like their bugs:
http://shop.groundzerogames.net/index.php?_a=vi...

they look sweet, I'd love to make a FWC bug army but unsure what else I could add to it to make the list work.

Epic 40k Bugs are more expensive then gold [I thought the orks were over priced the Tyranids are WAY over PRICED]

Nother one to look at :

http://www.brigademodels.co.uk/6mmSF

Several types might fit.

GZG - nice models, but he does tend to over-run his molds, and the alloy is very hard......

thx IanS

I took a look at the Brigade minis but njothing there that screams orky to me...

currently looking at splitting my Orks into two factions

Gorka and Morka or Feral orks Vs Industrial Orks.

As I'll have enough stuff to make two 3k armies.

Just wnat some squiggoths for the feral side.
for the feral army I'll use prop engine planes and transports for the industrial one there will be only jet engine versions.
