Posted on 30 March 2012 at 10:46:32 GMT Which scale offers the most choice for Future War Commander? My BKC stuff is 10mm, and I'm leaning towards 6mm for CWC. I have terrain for both scales, so that's not a major issue.. thanks in advance Bob |

Posted on 30 March 2012 at 11:07:20 GMT Theres far more stuff available in 6mm - GW Epic, DRM, etc etc. Next up is probably 15mm rather than 10mm |

Posted on 30 March 2012 at 11:12:21 GMT I'd go with 6mm, there is quite a lot in 15mm, but not as much choice especially vehicles. |

Posted on 30 March 2012 at 15:42:11 GMT I'm starting with FWC and I'm choosing 6mm because I like those miniatures the best. Also, they're cheap and they have good detail. And as said before, there's a lot of 6mm stuff for science fiction! Have some great battles! unit1997 |

Posted on 30 March 2012 at 19:27:03 GMT Much of the 10mm SF from Iron Wind and Reaper is beautiful stuff. I personally am happy to use it alongside 6mm (representing the really big, ultratech grav vehicles in my Traveller universe) but some object to the details like hatches etc being out of scale. For sheer range & diversity, you can't beat 6mm. I have tracked, hover & grav units from a dozen different manufacturers and I love them all Pete |

Posted on 30 March 2012 at 22:21:09 GMT Having just invested in some lovely ARC Fleet mini's from Critical mass Games I'd suggest 15mm. But then we're going for the skirmish scale mod, and after mulling it over wanted more 'beef' than 6mm. But there's loads of really nice 6mm sci-fi, so I think I'd plump for that. Of course, if you go with Ground Zero Games they do the same stuff in 6mm and 15mm so you could get the best of both worlds and do whichever takes your fancy on the night (cost not withstanding!)... |

Posted on 31 March 2012 at 08:27:58 GMT Bob - 15mm is good, with lots of conversion potential, but 6mm is better. I have done huge forces, inculding lots of turret swaps and chops on modrn and WWII stuff. IanS |

Posted on 31 March 2012 at 16:37:02 GMT Let me toss in my habitual pitch for 3mm. No, there's not a huge variety of purpose-made figures, but half the fun is repurposing 6mm stuff. If you're into Battletech-style sci-fi (i.e. near future with lots of walkers) then this is for you. |

Posted on 01 April 2012 at 02:58:25 GMT I'm a 6mm fan. It just seems to be a good balance between number of units and maneuverability. I've had some real bang up slug fests on a 9x5 foot ping pong table that moved like crazy. |

Posted on 01 April 2012 at 04:46:04 GMT Seriously, in spite of my penchant for 3mm, 6mm is the way to go for anything sci-fi that's not skirmish. For skirmish, I'd say go 15mm. |
