Posted on 09 August 2009 at 00:03:39 GMT yestreday evening we played the FWC traditional (almost) weekly game at a club. Our club it´s called "One and a half man Wargames Club", and actually have 2 members; miself and my 9 years old son. The idea was to include some pictures but unfortunatelly the club camera run out of batteries! BATTLE FOR THE CHURCH battle report. wrote in a "creative English" It was a 28mm game whith some house rules; CO and HQ must to be attached to a unit (common sense to decide which unit, please). This unit gains 1die on shoting and assault (2dice for CO) and can only be targeted if it´s the closer unit. If knoked out remains out of the game. All units have 360ºvision. R units have 180º. FORCES SITUATION After months of fighting ,ork forces seems unable to break the desesperate resistence of the imperial army who now only hold a little part of now ruined city of Emperograd In the middle of the industrial area remains untouched by bombs the Saint Ot little church. This little miracle it´s now a simbol of resistance and some kind of last hope for civilians and imperial soldiers as well. Now the famous ork boss Ol´rock Bullneck wants to finish whith this not by destroying the church but to put his iron boots over the Saint Ot´s grave, inside the church! Only a small group of Space Marines stays against this disaster!! THE BATTLE Marines´plan was simple; to hold some barricades and a idustrial building and shot at everything that moves while a unit of regular marines and a dreadnought walker will go to the church and be there or die. Under a light fire imperial forces done it. On the ork side a great military genius(me) maked a plan. Ork forces will be divided in 3. An armoured spearhead will attack the churh from the east,some infantry will attack from the west, while the rest will make a front attack, it will divide imperial fire or will be crushed, so 3 parts will be under light fire, genial it´s it? Thinks went extremlly well for orks, kaptain Von Krusha advance whith his troops in the middle at an unbelible speed (2 doble1, one after the other!!!) but in the east the tank and buggies receive a simple order; go to the church and kill everyone on the way, and They done it but went to a ruined church on other area of the city!!! (command blunder,a 4; retreat half move, being on the table border; the whole spearhead KO!!!!) On the west orks advance. Orks now advance in 2 waves and Brother Captain Gladio (my son´s fabourite) commanded the defence of the church coordinating fire from the church and the factory just killing one wave after the other!!! Orks passes all break point test but at the end of 5 turn they have only some grunts an ork unit and no commanders while the imperials only have a pair of units suppresed and not a single dead man!!! Such a genial plan becames a divided attack and firing to ducks at a fair for marines!!! Maybe orks and plans does not mix well!!! Sorry for such a long post!!! |
