I play my 1st FWC game.
I play it solo with 2 main objetives; to learn the rules and to see how it looks on the battle field the 28mm "movement trays" I did.
It was a 750pts. battle Marine Corps vs. Orks but with "c" instead of "k"Smile
Both trying to capture an important water supply plant.

Ork´s deploy zone was overcrowded as I take to much infantery stands 11 orcs and 4 grunts! it gives a terrible trafic jam with a tank and some buggies waiting for a clear passLifeless

At the end of the game Marines keep a little control of the objetive but was upon their break point and terrible surrounded by lot of orcsConfused I consider it a tie!!!

The rules work well, even with the pauses I did to take a look at the rule book!

The mov. trays works well and where not visually disturbing.

A great game and a very nice rules! I will play again with the help of my son as soon as possible!!!

After our last exchange what did you end up using for the trays. I bit the bullet and bought a pack each of the GW ones to have a look at.

Secondly, from what you had for 750 is that a "good" size game or what do you consider the maximum for say a 4'x4' or 6'x4' table

I did my mov. trays whith 6x10cm.plastic (I bought at local "school supplies" shop) texturized whith Vallejos´Grey pumice and then painted board color. I puted 4 figs on it, HQ and CO stands alone in his own original base.Vehicles without basing.

I played 750 points basically to make things flow easy, and to have some troops on Marines´side. To few troops on 500pts.

It was only few marines figs on table (4stands+HQ+CO 18minis plus Rhino IFV) and a lot of orks (11orks, 4grunts stands+CO+HQx2 63figs plus buggies and a tank.)

I think 1500-2000 points would be the limit using armies like orks on 6´x4´table unless You use alot of off table models, aircrafts and or for example a Gargant ,more than 700 points on a single model!!!

Let me know how you´ll do and how it goes!

TVM, Had a quick play around with BG and 750 points.

Agree with 4 figures on a base (25mm based ones) looks about right. Models which normally have 40mm bases I have gone 2 figures to a base the rest as is. FAO on a 40mm round base and a HQ/CO on 60mm Bases.

I will have some photos ready for the weekend of the models and if we get chance to game then hopefully those as well.

9 year old son handed me my Glutes on a plate. He picked up the command concept in about 30 seconds.

750 point game. X31 vs Marines. (Mine are the Tau, Josh has just started with the Blue things). Played a 6 turn game with :

X31 Marines
CO CV9 CO CV10
HQ CV9
4 X Inf 3 X INF
1 x Recce 1 X Scout
1 x CB 1 x Power Marines
1 x IFV 1 x Dawg

I killed more but he held the objective. Oh well!

Used the new WOTR bases and they work very well (a little bit of bluetac in the bottom of the 25mm ones stopped any accidents as we had a lot of terrain.

4 models look okay and the extra 2 slots let you add the upgrades direct to the base without making these 28mm guys have too big a foot print. Devastors and drones etc. Spare bases could fill the holes but we found they were great dice holders!

The CB and Power marines used the Cav bases with 2 models. Using spare bases etc for drones etc was dead easy. HQ and COs we left the models on their normal round bases.

Result FWC 1 The other system 0. But concur tith vonsirius that you are probably looking at about 1000 points as a max

Got some photos but am at work so will post on Friday when I get home.

Ummm sorry about the formatting, looked okay before I posted it, but I think you can see what the two force compositions were.

Yep - pics would be good...

Curious whether you're doing this as skirmish or 'normal'?
