Fulsome Prison Planet Blues

Gordon (Big Walker) put on another of his "special" mini-campaigns on the Sunday

Fulsome is a desert world used by the Kraytonians as a prison for the solar neighbourhood. All facilities are run by Contractors - Pax Arcadians and Colonial Defence Force.

Prisoners can walk out at any time and take their chances in the desert, which saves the Kraytonians the cost of locking them up. However the desert is now full of post-apocalypse anarchist gangs, much as per Mad Max 2. These gangs go by the generic term 'Junkers'.

And to top it off there is a rebel Kraytonian pirate fleet somewhere out there

The 1st round comprised 3 games - 2 were Junkers atttacking fuel convoys, escorted by Contractors, to remote facilities.
The 3rd game saw the Kray Prison guards taking on the Pirates and a Junker clan.

The Junkers could find hidden goodies such as reinforcements hidden bandies such as sandworms on each table

The Pax Arcs made mincemeat of the Junkers and got the fuel convoy through. The CDF failed to stop the Junkers overruning their convoy.

The 2nd round was a repeat of the first round with the Junkers swapping tables.

The Pax Arcs barely made it half way across the table due to Junker attackers but avoided losing fuel. The CDF managed to protect their convoy and get it to the facility

The final round of battle saw the 3 Junkers forces allied to the Space Pirates attacking the Prison complex held by the Kray Prison Guards and the Pax Arcadians. The CDF had bugged out fearing the worst

Two of the Junkers forces had not captured any fuel so their vehicles could not move and the attacks were left to the infantry

In a bizarre plot twist the Pirates and one of the Junkers had made a deal with the Guards to be transported off planet so they turned on the other Junkers. The Pax Arcs gained an extra month's pay by coming to the rescue of the Guards

Once again we had a cracking weekend of FWC.

My thanks to Colin, Gordon, Mark, Michael, Mike, Paul, Steve
for putting the time and effort into assembling their forces, creating excellent terrain and generating scenarios.

Alan, loved the weekend as last year and looking forward to next year already. Just give the dates and I'll book me room.

In the afternoon of Day 2 we just proved that (cold) blood is thicker than water Grin

It all looks really good, especially the scenery.

As expected my new wargaming partner (grandson) arrived at the weekend. Should I bring him along for his 1st birthday at FWC Bootcamp 2014? Wink

I'm sure Gordon will write him into a Bootcamp scenario
